Auction Details
This Signature Coin, Currency, and watch Event has something for everyone. The featured lot # 247 of this auction is a rare 1934 $5,000 Federal Reserve Note Chicago PMG Graded AU53. The Series 1934 $5,000s were printed in very limited quantities from the 1930s into the 1940s. A mere 6,600 notes were printed and released through the Chicago Federal Reserve and survivors are few, since they were used primarily in bank to bank transactions, redemption was almost automatic, leaving less than 1/2% unredeemed according to Treasury records. Many more were destroyed or lost, reducing the number of possible survivors even smaller.
