One 1875 $100 Legal Tender Note Fr.169 PMG Very Fine 25 Net. An incredibly rare type with just 13 notes known for this signature combination in all grades combined. Three of that total are forever impounded in institutional collections with one in the Smithsonian, and the other two in the ANA museum within the Bebee and Liebman collections. The visual appearance of this note is quite pleasing as it has retained good color of its iconic floral design found on these 1875 and 1878 series notes. The iconic portrait vignette of Lincoln at the upper left is welcomed along with a pleasing right vignette of allegory representing Architecture. Some repair work is noted along the top and bottom margin as well as the back center along with some very minor rust spots on the back. Truly a remarkable opportunity for collectors as even advanced collections are missing this catalog number. PMG Certified.
